Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate Business Rules
Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) Course Data
AP and IB course participation data are reported to the NYSED Student Information and Repository System (SIRS) in Student Class Entry Exit.
- Counts are based on students enrolled in these courses.
- Percentages signify the percentage of students enrolled at a particular grade level who took the AP or IB course.
- Not all students enrolled in AP or IB courses will take the assessment.
Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) Assessment Data
AP and IB assessment data are reported to the SIRS in Assessment Fact.
- Counts are the number of students reported who took the exam.
- Percentages signify the percentage of students enrolled at a particular grade level in that location who are enrolled in the AP or IB course.
- Not all students who took the AP assessment were enrolled in the course.
- A dash in the percentage field would signify suppressed data.
Suppression
To protect student privacy, suppression is applied to performance data when less than 5 students are tested. Suppressed data are represented by a dash.
- In the table IB Assessments Proficient (4 & Higher), if the Total # Tested is less than 5, performance data in % Total Tested with a Score of 4 or Higher are suppressed.
- In the table for AP Assessments Proficient (3 & Higher), if the Total # Tested is less than 5, performance data in % Total Tested with a Score of 3 or Higher are suppressed.
